Obama-Medvedev hot mic exchange
This happened in Korea yesterday. They were talking about nuclear arms reduction and the European missile shield. It's a brief and interesting glimpse at political realities (and Medvedev's proficiency in English). Obama's opponents are interpreting this as proof that after November 2012, Obama is going to sell us out to the Russians.
Santorum at gun range today (video and audio)
To be fair, Santorum condemned the Louisiana woman for what she said.
Romney Etch A Sketch moment brought to you by
that guy who co-hosted America's Funniest Home Videos with Daisy Fuentes. Huh?
Since this flub, Etch A Sketch stock has tripled and Romney's opponents have props in hand.
Painting of Obama burning the Constitution
From the artist's FB page:
“’I pledge allegiance to the United States of America,
And not to an ideology, which can never stand,
One nation under socialism, divisive,
With no liberty or justice for anyone.’
This November, you will make a choice. Will you choose One Nation Under Socialism?”
What's on the minds of Alabama and Mississippi Republicans?
James Meredith and his U.S. Marshal escorts at Ole Miss in 1962*
Legality of interracial marriage:
MS: 29% think it should be illegal.
AL: 21% think it should be illegal.
Believe in evolution?:
MS: 66% do not believe in it.
AL: 60% do not believe in it.
Is Obama a Muslim?
MS: 52% say he's a Muslim, 36% are not sure, 12% think he's a Christian.
AL: 45% say he's a Muslim, 41% are not sure, 14% think he's a Christian.
*In 1962, James Meredith became the first black student at the University of Mississippi. To protect Meredith, JFK sent in 500 U.S. Marshals, the 70th Army Engineer Combat Battalion, military police from the 503rd Military Police Battalion, the Mississippi Army National Guard, and the U.S. Border Patrol.

Herman Cain's new goldfish ad
Did you really think that you'd never hear from Herman Cain again? Wrong. Apparently, during his brief ascension, he raised quite a bit of cash. And he fell so quickly, he didn't even have a chance to spend all that cash. Here is a new ad put out by the ex-candidate.
Rick Santorum on higher education
Santorum, by the way, has a bachelor's degree, a law degree, and an MBA. His wife has a bachelor's degree and a law degree. Something tells me his children are in college or are going to college.
Come on, Republicans!
Unemployment is still high. 50% of all Americans think Obama's term so far has been a failure. Almost anyone should be able to beat the President. And so who is going to be running against Obama? An out-of-touch, socially awkward, multi-millionaire. And his campaign is run by a bunch of incompetents. What a wasted opportunity.
Romney, today. 1,200 Republicans in suits at Ford Field, which has 65,000 seats.

Rick Santorum, your Republican presidential frontrunner
With Romney in the dumps and Santorum in the lead, the Republican establishment is seriously worried about their ability to beat Obama in November. In just the last two days, Santorum has:
- denounced free prenatal testing because it encourages abortions;
- questioned the necessity of federal- and state-mandated public education;
- questioned Obama's foreign "theology" of caring about the environment; and
- compared Obama to Hitler, because we all thought they were harmless, nice guys before they turned out to be evil dictators.
Best and worst week ever for Chinese-Americans
Best: Jeremy Lin of the New York Knicks explodes. In the last three games, he scored 25, 28, and 23 points.
Worst: Lisa Chan, recent U.C. Berkeley grad and the queen of all sellouts, shoots this ad and personally obliterates all the progress Asian-Americans have made in the last 20 years.
One Nation Under God painting
Jesus is holding the U.S. Constitution and judging you. The group on the bottom right corner includes a weeping Supreme Court Justice, a pregnant woman with a disabled fetus, a lawyer counting money, a liberal journalist, a cell phone wielding politician, a smug Hollywood type, and a professor holding Darwin's Origin of Species.
The artist was kind enough to interpret the entire painting for us here.
The best and worst Superbowl ads
The ads overall, again, have been disappointing. Even the best ads were slightly above so-so.
The Best:
1. Careerbuilder chimp ad. If this is the best ad of the game, it gives you a pretty good idea of how low the bar is. But then again, who doesn't love chimps?
2. Kia Optima ad. It's not just about the pretty lady. The story is actually pretty sweet. The bucking rhino and lumberjacks sawing the submarine sandwich are pure genius.
3. Acura NSX ad. The story line was lame, but that car is out of this world.
The Worst:
Pete Hoekstra for U.S. Senate ad. This little number, which played in certain Michigan markets, is straight out of Full Metal Jacket. Is the actor in the ad that desperate for a gig?
